Summary
The parties are American citizens and want to get divorced before the German Local Court. The court stated the international jurisdiction pursuant to Art 3 but did not specify the exact venue. [For the purposes of the database it has been assumed that both parties were habitually resident in Germany, Art 3 (1) (a) first indent]. The law applicable to the divorce was according to the court the law of New Mexico. It was determined under autonomous rules of PIL (Art 17, 14 EGBGB).
