Summary
The dispute concerned the content of a German website run by an Egypt travel operator. It was doubtful whether the website’s content lacked information concerning the area of business-related advertisement. The court classified this issue as an issue of consumer protection and applied Art 6 (1) Rome II Regulation. It stated that German law applied to the case as the website’s advertisement was targeted towards German consumers. Therefore, the interests of German consumers were likely to be adversely affected by the the content.
